Intervencia

The photographic file captures a black square placed in different areas of the monastery complex in Želiv. In the process of creation, I reflect on the taboo that accompanies the Christian faith among the people but also myself. It opens me up to thoughts like, "What does all this mean as far as I am concerned? Why is everything so pompous and mysterious at the same time?"  I am gripped by feelings of fear of entering and moving within the monastery premises. "What if I commit something that is, as they say, against the church order?" With the photographs, I try to find the boundary between materiality and faith, the known and the unknown, with the help of the black square which in a way hinders all this symbolism and forces one to think about everything that is beyond it and in which the observer would otherwise get lost.
